The 'Sweet List': Discover what's new to eat in the country

It's impossible to keep up with the latest culinary offerings, so we're trying to put a little order into it. New menus, new restaurants, new menus, and new shops that help us enjoy good food more, whether we're sitting in front of the stove or eating out. In this section, which we've named Sweet billboardWe regularly inform you of all the latest developments in our company. Never better said!
It is located on Vallespir street in Barcelona
The New Priorat Winery, located on Calle Vallespir in Barcelona, in the Sants neighborhood, has begun a new era with a menu based on local and organic products. Local producers, who bring them ingredients such as Calaf eggs, fruit from Lleida, and meat from Pallars, among many others, are the driving force behind their daily preparations of a menu filled with exquisite dishes. To start, as it could not be otherwise, some good olives and anchovies; to continue, Calaf eggs on a plate or cod with raisins, pine nuts, and diced Lleida apples; and to finish, a cheese table, all artisanal, which will be presented to you in detail, because Josep Maria Sumalla, one of the souls of El Celler del Nou Priorat, knows all the ets and u. Attention! in El Miracle cheese, made by cheesemaker Sílvia SolerWith this quality of produce, a meal at El Celler del Nou Priorat costs around €30-€40. For those who like to learn about the history of establishments, you should know that the restaurant was once a grocery store (it still has its wooden shelves), and in old Barcelona history books, it appears photographed just as it once was on the corner of Calle Vallespir.
Opens in Vilanova i la Geltrú
Sitges pizza chef David Cordero has opened a new La Farina in Vilanova i la Geltrú. Encouraged by the success of Sitges' pizzerias and Sant Pere de Ribes, Cordero has opened a new branch on Sant Gervasi Street, one of the most gastronomic arteries in the capital of Garraf. On the menu, lovers of slow-fermented pizzas with a touch of sourdough will find creations for all tastes. Two are always on offer, the first two that David Cordero created when he started in the business: Georgina and David, based on his and his partner's ingredient preferences. You'll also find the most sybaritic pizza, the caviar pizza. And since humanity doesn't live on pizza alone, you'll find other offerings on the menu, such as focaccia with foie gras or with Iberian ham. Pay attention also to the torta de garrafa (a type of slow-fermented pizza) with sardines. And best of all: both the diameter of the pizza and the portions are generally generous.

A four-hander with chef Aitor López and good dishes
The Besta restaurant in Barcelona (Aribau, 106) is in great shape, with a menu that excels in fish and seafood. It is also seeking alliances with prestigious chefs, such as Aitor López, from Citrus del Cerrado (one Michelin star), with whom they teamed up this week to bring to the table a 4-hands restaurant featuring dishes from both seas, the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. A mastery that shone through preparations such as peas with cocochas (a type of stew made of hake cheeks), broad beans with cuttlefish, crab stew with beans and tomato, and marinated dentifrice with mussels from the Ebro Delta. All of this was accompanied by sparkling wines, with Mestres cavas, in which the sommelier knew how to pair each of the wines with the dishes. Although the 4-hands restaurant only ran for a morning and afternoon on a single day, going to Besta is always the best excuse to taste the most creative dishes with exclusive products from both seas, and at a very reasonable price. Take note of the chef's table, perhaps one of the most interesting in Barcelona's restaurant scene, a low bar where you can eat and interact with the chefs, who will prepare the dishes right in front of you.
A novelty: The Mexican Mafia
Mexican food is loved—almost—by almost everyone. That's why the new opening of La Mafia Mexicana, located at 198 Urgell Street, is worth highlighting. Chef Renato Guiomar serves all the street food classics from the country of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera: birria, tacos en el pastor either chilaquiles. Choose the must Anyone who finds it most enjoyable and doesn't have it can get their hands dirty. This cuisine is precisely for that, to be enjoyed without shame. As Guiomar says, this type of food is a level playing field in the United States, because everyone from the working classes to the wealthy can find it at street stalls. Thus, this new restaurant, which replaces La Güerita Mexicana, is a new opportunity to experience a little piece of the country in Barcelona.
